Objective

Seek a job as marine biologist to utilize my vast experience.Interest to work in Marine Mammals.

Education

Ph D Submitted April 2009 .Thesis entitled “Molecular Identification of Marine Mammals (Order: Cetacea) along the Indian coast".

Master of Science in Coastal Aquaculture, Annamalai University, Tamilnadu India, May 2002.

Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture, Mahatma Gandhi University, kerala, India, June 1999.

Experience

My doctoral dissertation titled Molecular Identification of marine mammals (order: cetacea) along the Indian coast, was carried out at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kerala project was funded by Ministry of earth sciences, Molecular tools have opened up new avenues in the investigation of molecular level identification In India, there is no access to fresh specimens because all of them are protected. Hence accidentally killed animals were utilized to collect data. The present study will serve as a guideline to future researchers to collect quality data on marine mammals. In many ways this study can be considered as the beginning of professional approach to study marine mammals in India. I have extensive laboratory experience in DNA extraction, PCR amplification of mitochondrial DNA both Control region and Cytochrome b.

Actively participated sightings surveys were made onboard FORV Sagar Sampada continuously On Board Cruise Experience in FORV Sagar Sampada. Multi-purpose fisheries and oceanographic research vessel (India). Participated in 20 Cruises, both in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal (2003-2009) for marine mammal observations.

2003 Sept - 2009. 6 years 2 months. Working as a Research Fellow in a project on “Studies on marine mammals along the Indian EEZ and the contiguous seas”, continuing..
