Production Manager (Promoted to this position from Aquaculture Technician in 2004)
• Responsible for the open-sea production of certified organic finfish.
• Daily outdoor production experience in an offshore marine environment. Supervising production teams to carry-out daily activities, training teams of interns and apprentices on aquaculture methods.
• Stock management and oversight of operations including, reception of juveniles, grading, sampling, changing, cleaning and mending net pens, determining and preparing feed rations…
• Reports directly to company General Manager.
• Creating and implementing company-wide procedures, respecting traceability requirements for the organic label, assisting Quality Manager with all inspections (veterinary, organic label, etc).
• Accompanying organic certifier with audits, and production visits, providing detailed reports of farming practices. Trained to HACCP.
• Surveillance and zoological intervention (prophylactic measures, oral vaccinations, treatment, mortality rates). Direct contact with the aquaculture veterinary service department.
• Surveillance and intervention based on physico-chemical parameters of the water, management of oxygenation material, aerators (hydro-ejectors), motorized sub-marine helix, weather conditions.
• Conducted studies (with University interns) which included a series of tests in order to enhance managerial production methods in an effort to optimize feed conversion ratios.
• Development and deployment of production management software programs; data analysis.
• Calculating sales potential based on observed growth rates.
• Responsible for harvesting activities (ice-bath methods), assuring boat transport, packaging, shipment.
• Working directly with suppliers (hatchery, feed, material…). Responsible for ordering necessary supplies.

• Frequent weekends on duty necessitating 48 hour presence on the site.
