1996 Wholesale Market Report Summaries
Seasons Greetings

The Maryland Food Center Authority and the Maryland Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture Office, wish to extend our warmest holiday greetings to the Wholesalers, and Subscribers. The next regular issue will be for the week ending January 10, 1997.
The summary reports provide the Aquaculture Office the opportunity to express our sincere appreciation a hearty "THANK YOU" to the people who make the reports possible; MS. SUSAN KEILHOLTZ, who contacts the Eastern Markets and records the data: LADON SWANN AND Ms. ANGIE MCBRIDE, Purdue University, who contact the Mid-West Markets and enter all of the reports on the INTERNET system; and especially the WHOLESALE SEAFOOD COMPANIES, who take their valuable and often very hectic time to respond and provide data. The reports go to over 35 states and 11 foreign countries on a regular basis. Through the effort of Purdue University, the reports are now accessible worldwide on the Internet.
The reports have proven to be invaluable in preparing business plans for investors and lending institutions. We now have 5 years of reports providing a documented history of price-volume-form-location relationships. The reports are cited in numerous seafood, aquaculture, unversity and government publications.
The 1996 summaries are divided into 4 separate reports: Maryland-Washington, DC markets, Pennsylvania-New Jersey-New York- Massachusetts markets; Northeast Live markets; and the new Mid-West markets.
The Aquaculture Office wishes everyone associated with the report a SAFE, HEALTH, and PROSPEROUS 1997. May the report continue to provide useful information, business contacts and a base for friendships to develop for many years to come.
