Week Ending July 12, 1996 This report is for the week ending July 12, 1996. The reported prices were mixed to slightly lower. Price increases were reported for catfish fillets, whole striped bass, boned rainbow trout, dressed rainbow trout, whole Arctic char and dressed white sturgeon. Price decreases were reported for cajun-lemon pepper catfish fillets, dressed catfish, tilapia fillets, whole tilapia, rainbow trout fillets, Atlantic salmon fillets, whole Atlantic salmon and boned coho salmon. No price change was reported for catfish nuggets or red meat trout fillets. The reported volumes were mixed. Volume increases were reported for cajun-lemon pepper catfish fillets, tilapia fillets, whole tilapia, rainbow trout fillets, Atlantic salmon fillets, whole Atlantic salmon and boned coho salmon. Rainbow trout fillets, boned rainbow trout, and whole Arctic char. No volume change was reported for catfish nuggets, dressed catfish or red meat trout fillets. Volume decreases were noted for catfish fillets, whole hybrid striped bass, dressed rainbow trout, Atlantic salmon fillets, whole Atlantic salmon, boned coho salmon and dressed white sturgeon. NOTE: It was reported that no supply of hybrid striped bass exists. Also, Atlantic salmon prices and volumes were in direct competition with over 60,000 pounds of "wild" salmon. No ½ pints of shucked oysters were reported. Pints of shucked oysters were unchanged in price but 200 pints lower in volume. Gallons of shucked oysters were 99 cents per gallon higher, but unchanged in volume. Shell oysters were unchanged in price, but increased 29,800 oysters in volume. Hard clams increased 1 cent per clam and decreased 4,900 clams in volume. Mussels decreased 9 cents per pound and increased 3,275 pounds in volume. Black tiger shrimp increased 22 cents per pound and decreased 900 pounds in volume. Whole cooked crawfish, alligator tail meat and dressed rattlesnake reported no price or volume change.
