Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report
HIGHLIGHTS
This report is for the week ending May 30, 1997. In
general, the reported finfish prices were slightly lower. Price decreases were reported
for catfish fillets, rainbow trout fillets, boned rainbow trout, whole Atlantic salmon,
boned coho salmon and whole Arctic char. Price increases were reported for cajun-lemon
pepper catfish fillets, whole hybrid striped bass, tilapia fillets and Atlantic salmon
fillets. In general, the reported volumes increased except for cajun-lemon pepper catfish
fillets, whole hybrid striped bass and boned rainbow trout. Volume increases were reported
for catfish fillets, tilapia fillets, rainbow trout fillets, Atlantic salmon fillets,
whole Atlantic salmon, boned coho salmon and whole Arctic char.
Shucked oysters in ½ pints, pints and gallons were
unchanged in price and volume. Shell oysters were 2 cents less per oyster and unchanged in
volume.. Hard clams were 1 cent per clam higher but 24,450 clams lower in volume. Mussels
increased 14 cents per pound and 930 pounds in volume. Black tiger shrimp (raw) were 52
cents per pound higher but 2,935 pounds less in volume. Live crawfish increased 5 cents
per pound but were unchanged in volume. Alligator was unchanged in price and volume.
