Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report
Week Ending February 21, 1997
HIGHLIGHTS
This report is for the week ending February 21, 1997. In
general, the reported finfish prices were unchanged to higher. Catfish fillets,
cajun-lemon pepper catfish fillets, whole hybrid striped bass, tilapia fillets, rainbow
trout fillets, and whole Atlantic salmon reported price increases. Price decreases were
reported for catfish nuggets, dressed catfish, boned rainbow trout, Atlantic salmon
fillets and boned coho salmon. The reported volumes were generally unchanged. Volume
increases were reported for cajun-lemon pepper catfish fillets, catfish nuggets, whole
hybrid striped bass, Atlantic salmon fillets and boned coho salmon. Volume decreases were
reported for catfish fillets, dressed catfish, tilapia fillets, boned rainbow trout and
whole Atlantic salmon. Whole tilapia reappeared.
No price or volume change was reported for ½ pints of
shucked oysters. Pints of shucked oyster increased in price with the volume unchanged.
Gallons of shucked oysters decreased in price and volume. Hard clams were unchanged in
price with a decreased volume. Mussels decreased in price and increased in volume. Black
tiger shrimp decreased in price and volume. Crawfish and alligator remained unchanged in
price and volume.
