Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report
Week Ending December 1, 1996
HIGHLIGHTS
This report is for the week ending December 6,
1996. This is the last regular report for 1996. The 1996 summary reports will be out
before January 1, 1997. The next regular report will be the week ending January 10, 1997.
In general, the reported finish prices were unchanged. Catfish nuggets, whole arctic char,
Atlantic salmon, dressed rainbow trout and red meat trout fillets reported price
increases. Price decreases were reported for catfish fillets, whole hybrid striped bass,
whole Atlantic salmon, tilapia fillets rainbow trout fillets. In general the reported
volumes were generally lower. Volume increases were reported for Cajun-lemon pepper
catfish fillets, whole Arctic char, whole Atlantic salmon, whole Atlantic salmon boned
coho salmon, tilapia fillets, boned rainbow trout and rainbow trout fillets. Mature coho
were reported for the first time.
Shucked oysters in pints increased .30 cents per pint. Shucked oysters in gallons
increased $6.15 per gallon and 264 gallons in volume. Hard clams increased 1,375 clams in
volume, but were unchanged in price. Mussels increased 2 cents per pound in price and 630
pounds in volume. Black tiger shrimp increased .17 cents per pound in price and 841 pounds
in volume. Alligator increased 30 pounds in volume but the price was unchanged.
