Special Federal Session at Aquaculture America 2008
In past years, the National Aquaculture Association has requested that a federal
session be convened that focuses on emerging issues, new programs and other
activities associated with federal agencies. For 2008, the format of this
session is being changed to a forward looking vision for federal programs and
more time for engagement with special emphasis on the unique federal interagency
Joint Subcommittee on Aquaculture, recent actions by FDA on imported fishery
products and contaminated aquaculture feeds, federal funding opportunities, and
new occasion for open and frank dialogue with the managers of various federal
programs actively involved with aquaculture. We encourage broad participation to
join in discussions on setting a strategic course for the future and charting
future directions at the crossroads on aquaculture research and development.
Please review the following for details on this special federal session.
