Farm Bill Conferees Propose Funding Cuts for Land-grant Research, Extension and Education



Funding reductions of 75% in the Research Title of the Farm Bill, H.R. 2419, have been proposed by Farm Bill Conferees. The Research Title includes land-grant university research, extension and education programs. The success of the US aquaculture industry to compete in today's economy is attributable, in large part, to advances in science and technology generated by these USDA’s programs. Therefore, it is imperative that full funding be maintained.

Please contact your Congressional members immediately, requesting full funding for land-grant university research, extension and education programs. For your convenience, attached is a sample letter.
