USDA-Wildlife Services Authority and Funding

The Double-Crested Cormorant population has increased exponentially during the last two decades.  Senator Blanche Lincoln (AR) introduced Senate Bill 126 that will grant USDA-Wildlife Services authority to manage comorants.  Senator Thad Cochran (MS) is leading an effort to obtain $4.2 million in additional funding for Wildlife Services to pay for cormorant management.  The NAA encourages you to contact your congressional members today, requesting their assistance in seeking management authority for comorants and additional funding to the USDA-Wildlife Services legislation S.126.
