Reports from the stakeholder workshop for the USDA Biotech Risk Assessment Grants program

On June 9-10, 2003, a stakeholder workshop was held to identify research needs and priorities for the USDA Biotechnology Risk Assessment Grants program. Workshop participants were divided into 6 breakout groups to identify research needs and priorities regarding environmental risk assessment and risk management for genetically modified animals, plants and microorganisms. The 6 breakout groups included:

1) Animals (Mammals and Birds)
2) Fish, Shellfish, and Insects
3) Microorganisms
4) Plants: Impact & Management of Gene Flow
5) Plants: Pest Resistance Development & Management
6) Plants: Unintended Effects
