U.S.-Israel Binational Agricultural Research and Development Fund (BARD) Program


BARD PROPOSAL DEADLINE IS SEPT. 1
 
The deadline for submitting proposals to the U.S.-Israel Binational Agricultural Research and Development Fund (BARD) Program is September 1, 2000.  The program promotes and supports cooperative agricultural research projects of mutual interest to both countries.  BARD accepts proposals for grants from U.S. universities, government institutions, and non-profit research institutions. 
 
The 2000 program accepts proposals in the following disciplines:  agricultural economics, agricultural  engineering, aquaculture, animal production, animal protection, cellular and molecular biology in agriculture, field and garden crops, fruit tree crops, plant protection,
post harvest and food technology, soil, water, air, and the environment. 
 
A copy of the updated 2000 guidelines may be obtained from either the BARD website (http://www.bard-isus.com) or from LYNN GIPE, USDA-ARS-OIRP, 5601 Sunnyside Ave., Beltsville, MD 20705-5134, Room 4-2104 (phone: 301-504-4584, fax: 301-504-4619; e-mail: mlg@ars.usda.gov).  Each BARD proposal must be approved on an ARS Form 425 before submitting it to either the U.S. BARD Liaison office in Beltsville, MD, or the BARD Executive office in Israel.
