CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The 1999-2000 American Association for the Advancement of
Science (AAAS) Award for Public Understanding of Science and Technology is given to
scientists and engineers who make outstanding contributions to the popularization of
science, but who are not members of the media. The prize awarded will be $5,000.
Nominations deadline is August 1, 1999.

Please include the following:
- NOMINEE's name, position, address
- NOMINATOR's name, position, address
- Summary of Activities such as book, magazine, and newspaper
publishing; broadcasting; lecturing; museum presentation and exhibit design; and other
public outreach activities, local or national in the U.S.
- CV (3 pages maximum)
- 2 Letters of Support
- Sample of materials produced for general audiences, as
opposed to professional or trade audiences, illustrating nominee's contribution.
- 3-Page Statement providing additional details for the
action(s) for which the candidate is nominated, including one paragraph which describes
the nominee's impact on the public.
