USDA Scientific Cooperation Program Proposals Sought Funding is available for international scientific research
and exchange under USDA's 1998 Scientific Cooperation Program. Administered by the
Research and Scientific Exchanges Division of the Foreign Agricultural Service, the
program promotes international cooperation in agriculture and forestry through short-term
visits and research projects. Proposals are accepted from U.S. universities and USDA
scientists as well as private nonprofit organizations, and must be submitted from the U.S.
side. The 1998 program solicits proposals in the following areas: New Food and Fiber
Crops/New Uses; Preservation and Characterization of Plant and Animal Germplasm;
Techniques for Minimizing Use of Agricultural Chemicals; Agricultural Waste Management
Strategies and Applications; Sustaining/Managing Fragile or Threatened Ecosystems; and
International Impacts on Domestic Agriculture and Forestry. The proposal submission

FY 1995 Inventory of Agricultural Research The FY 1995 Inventory of Agricultural Research has been distributed to state cooperators and is now available from the Current Research Information System (CRIS), Science and Education Resources Development, USDA. The Inventory contains a compilation of statistical tables on research conducted by USDA, state agricultural experiment stations, 1890/Tuskegee institutions, forestry schools, and colleges of veterinary medicine.
