National Science Foundation

At the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program provides funding for aquaculture research. This program annually solicits high-quality research proposals from small business firms on important scientific or engineering problems that could lead to significant public benefit. Aquaculture proposals submitted under this solicitation most generally fall under two major suggested topic areas: marine/Estuarine or Freshwater Aquaculture. However, certain topic areas in engineering could be appropriate, depending upon the nature of the proposed research.
