We seek an experimentalist who will study physiological processes in juvenile, larval, or adult marine fishes of commercial or recreational importance using modern molecular techniques to investigate basic questions in growth, condition, nutrition, or reproduction. We seek candidates with demonstrated expertise and innovative research who would benefit from the excellent fish culture facilities at the Marine Science Institute's Fisheries and Mariculture Laboratory and our strong ties with the sport fishing community. Applicants are expected to develop a high-impact research program and to participate in undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral education and training. Successful applicants will have freedom to follow their research interests and opportunities to collaborate with a vibrant group of faculty spanning a variety of marine science research areas in one of the largest research universities in the United States.
The application should contain a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests that indicates how the applicant’s research activities would take advantage of the Fisheries and Mariculture Laboratory’s facilities (3 pages maximum), and a statement of teaching philosophy.
