. Experience with boat and trailer transportation.
. Demonstrated ability at handling boating operations of vessels up to
22 feet.
. Must be able to collect field data in a variety of field conditions,
and work in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
. Knowledge and experience with statistical and other quantitative,
analytical methods used in shellfish management including field survey
techniques.
. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in written and oral
form.
. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
. Must be willing to attend and travel to required meetings, seminars
and training.
. Respectful and sensitive to the values and culture of the Mashpee

The Aquaculturist will serve as the contact person for the Popponesset Bay
Restoration Project. The Aquaculturist will be responsible for developing
the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's capacity to manage its land and natural
resources by developing a sustainable shellfish aquaculture project in
Popponesset Bay.
Job Duties:
. Provide training, supervision and direction to seasonal aquaculture
staff in shellfish propagation and management.
. Assist NRD staff in establishing an education and training program
for tribal members in disciplines relating to natural resources.
. Assist NRD staff in establishing a baseline inventory of the coastal
aquatic wildlife species and their habitat, including endangered and
threatened species located in and around Popponesset and Waquoit Bays, and
the Mashpee, Santuit and Quashnet Rivers.
. Assist NRD Staff in conducting system wide mapping of eelgrass and
macro algae mats and assist in annual shellfish surveys.Contact:
