The Institute provides professionals with a unique opportunity to understand the science of changing global issues and learn best practices to design, implement, and evaluate integrated ecosystem-based coastal management programs. Summer Institute is designed to allow peers from around the world to share experience and learn from one another. The program is unique in offering both technical content, professional skills development, and post-course coaching. The Institute orchestrates lectures, field exercises, small group work, panels, simulations and case studies to create an energizing experiential adult learning opportunity. The extensive international experience of the Coastal Resources Center is joined with that of participants to foster a robust, interactive dynamic that sends participants home with new insights and skills to apply to the challenges they face. To keep this dynamic going, the Institute provides post course mentoring to support participants as they translate theory into action. , Coastal Resources Center University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, Narragansett, Rhode Island, USA, Kimberly Kaine, kkaine@crc.uri.edu, Phone Number: 1-401-874-6823, Fax Number: 1-401-874-6920
